I know what I’ll do I’m closer than most to the real moon I can go outside and really see the light But lately when I walk I feel a crowd even if it’s far off Hiding from the signs You were never mine Call it in, take a holiday All I find is another doorway Did it happen if nobody saw?
A whole life in a tiny box I know what I’ll be I can belong, I can feel at ease Shouldn’t be so hard, Wear my hair long in the wind I ride on ‘Cause lately when we talk I can never tell if you’re listening much Hiding from the signs You were never mine Around 12 o’clock I see a deer standing on a front lawn Looking very lost Staring back at me with same thoughts

about

"dazzling" - Skope Mag
"exudes delicacy" - Circuit Sweet
"beats softly in time with tangerine-toned memories" - The Autumn Roses

Nestled amongst the gently plucked nylon strings of a warm acoustic guitar and surrounded by flourishes of horns and analog-tinged synths, Jennah Barry's "stunning" and "powerful" vocals float effortlessly in the mix. Once again finding its musical footing somewhere along the paths carved out by Harry Nilsson, Burt Bacharach, and Emmylou Harris, the vintage tones and feel are contrasted by the track's contemporary narrative.

"I was spending most of my time alone when I wrote ‘The Real Moon,'” says Barry. “The song is about the very modern problem of seeing too much of the world without actually leaving your house. It’s about experiencing the fragility of reality.”
